As Zabbix got the new fantastic Selenium-based synthetic web tests, you will now have a new component to monitor. How do you monitori Selenium? With Zabbix, of course! If you are inpatient, feel free to download my very bare bones example template.

Zabbix 7.0rc2 was released few days ago, and one of the most striking additions to it is the pre-built template for the new Selenium-based website monitoring. Of course I had to try it out.

Can you monitor your ad-blocker with Zabbix? Of course you can!

My home Asus router is running on Asuswrt-Merlin firmware, and with that I have AdGuard Home ad-blocker.

As AdGuard Home has an API, monitoring it with Zabbix is trivial.

Today Forcepoint's Finland team had our Community Service Day, during which we do something good for our communities. Much of the team went for example to donate blood or do some outdoor activities, like helping to clean parks and beaches.

I decided to help one of our local businesses. Not giving out its name because that would immediately reveal where I live. Anyway, the business owners were totally impressed that someone would offer them support like this for free.

When reading this blog, you could easily think that everything is smooth sailing all the time. No. When you monitor your home IoT -- or frankly, just USE your home IoT -- you have plenty of small details to watch out for. I list them for you, so you don't have to find them out the hard way like I've done over this 1+ year of journey.
